Getting Involved at the
CHS
The CHS is all about community involvement. The board is 75%
community representatives and all of the steering groups require
local input to make them effective.

We are always looking for
new members and have an Annual General Meeting to decide the
subsequent years office bearers. This does not mean you can only
be involved at the time of the AGM. If you have a particular
interest or would like to be involved in the decision making at
the CHS please e-mail or visit the shop and speak to the staff.
They are very approachable and are looking for more community
involvement.
Currently the steering groups are:-
Board of Directors - the main group where the board can discuss with
funders and staff about issues arising that may affect the CHS.
This group has a co-ordinating role for the other steering
groups at the CHS as this is where many issues are created for
the sub-groups and also where they can take their issues for
resolution.
Services Group - where the people who provide
services go to discuss problems, liaise with other service
providers and discuss current issues at the CHS.
S-Club Tuesday -
the young persons service to discuss sexual health and the
surrounding issues. This steering group plans the future
sessions and discusses current service provision.
Barlanark
Elderly Forum - local pertinent issues are discussed her and
regular action is taken. Recent issues have included transport
and entertainment. This political group lobby on behalf of the
older population and need as many voices as possible.
We also
have a Community Involvement Steering Group which we would be
hopeful the people accessing this site might be able to reform
and ensure the CHS is representative of the wishes and needs of
the community it serves.
